CHRISTMAS, it’s my absolute favorite time of the year.
I love everything about Christmas……however, it’s also a time where you find it very easy to get consumed in the hustle & bustle, you find yourself overwhelmed and stressed out and spinning in circles (or so it seems, but trust me, you are exactly where you’re supposed to be, doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing) (seriously, trust me on that. You’re rocking right where you’re at).
One way to help get in the Christmas spirit, and to drink in all the wonderful gloriousness of it, is through Christmas lights and decorations through out your house.
While this is a fun and great tradition to have, you might actually be sabotaging yourself.
We have a tendency to overdecorate. Place every green, red, blue, gold, sparkle, tinseled item over any inch of space we have. However, in a time that is already busy, functioning in a state of barely controlled chaos, adding this cluttered type of chaos to your shelves, no matter how festive, will subconsciously add to the overwhelm you are feeling.
This time of year, above all others, is meant to represent peace.
Jesus was born so that, through trials, we would have peace.
That is Christmas.
Rather than an overstimulating circus, turn your home into a peaceful, cozy retreat. An environment that fills you with peace and joy and supports you in bringing good tidings and cheer to everyone around you.
There is truly psychology in design. Now design the life you love.
Lucky for us, Pinterest is a smorgasbord of beautiful Holiday decor, so as not to reinvent the wheel, here is a list of some of my favorite Holiday guides to give you inspiration to capture that Christmas spirit (in the last week you can!).
And perhaps my favorite, Farm House Christmas Decor
I am so grateful to you and your support, and the fact that you are working on designing the best you you can, to live the best life you can, to truly make a difference in this world.
Happy Designing and Lots of love.
